The Plan for ThinkyBank.

It's not a GTD tool. It's not a project management tool. It's a platform to find and execute on the best ideas.

Hey there Thinkers.

There seem to be 2 different kinds of people who have trouble with "ideas."

First are people who, like me, have a bazillion ideas a day little to no barometer for which one is a great idea to attach your will to it.

ThinkyBank helps us by giving providing an opinionated repository for ideas which helps surface the sticky ones and let the fleeting ones fade to black. When you think of something new, go ahead and add it. It'll be there safe for you.

Some of our ideas are great, and we're not ready for them. Either they need time, money or expertise we just don't have. For those ideas, I build ThinkyPlace. You can share your ideas there and find collaborators to bring that idea from Thought to Done.

This is where the second group of folks come in. Some people have the desire, skill, will, and resources to make something amazing but are missing the inspiring idea to apply them to.

They can find ideas in ThinkyPlace that they would love to bring to fruition and start a conversation with the original Thinker.

Right now everything is free. Experienced Thinkers know "free" is not long-term sustainable.

I know I feel bad when I become reliant on a service with an uncertain future. So I wanted to share my future plans for ThinkyBank to make it sustainable.

The logging of ideas, the sharing of your ideas, and blogging about your ideas to help generate interest and solidify the idea will remain free. I am planning on monetization in 3 ways:

  • 1. ThinkyPlace will add a micro investing option for people who have the skill, will, and desire but need funds
  • 2. Some select set of future features will be behind a "plus" plan which will have a fee
  • 3. Another part of my life is coaching. We'll add a coaching program to help build your ability to take ideas from Thought to Done more often, and with less friction

This is the current plan. I'm open to additional suggestions and I'd love to hear your thoughts on this below.

Happy Thinking!
- Rob
